Last Wednesday [September 16, 2026], over 60 delivery workers for the Wolt platform in Iceland stopped working. The strikers gathered outside the platform’s office in Reykjavík, demanding an explanation for the drop in their earnings. Over the past year, the minimum delivery rate has been drastically reduced: previously 1,000 ISK, it has now been lowered to 600 ISK.
The delivery workers emphasized that, during this period, neither order prices nor customer delivery fees on the Wolt platform have been reduced. Furthermore, the workers are grappling with rising fuel and vehicle operating costs. As a result, they are finding themselves in a situation where they actually lose money on certain orders.
