In February 2026, the Deliveroo and Glovo platforms operating in Italy were placed under judicial administration following action by local prosecutors. Both platforms were accused of worker exploitation.

After more than six months, Deliveroo conceded the prosecutors’ point and decided to raise pay rates for delivery workers by over 40%. The raise will affect more than 20,000 workers. At the same time, a daily working time limit has been introduced to prevent extreme fatigue—aiming to stop shifts of 18–20 hours a day, which had become a necessity due to drastically low earnings.

For now, there is no final decision regarding the future of either platform. Nor is there a finalized plan for improving the situation at Glovo.
