The Financial Times newspaper described the history of the creation and results of the UberCheat (UberCheat) application. It was an application used to audit the algorithm of the application used by people working for the Uber Platform. More precisely, it checked whether the distance actually covered by the supplier was the same as that calculated by the application. This information is crucial for suppliers’ earnings: it is on its basis that remuneration is calculated. Although, of course, not only that – the remuneration is calculated by an algorithm taking into account many factors that we can only guess at (weather, number of couriers at work, number of orders, employee evaluation, etc.).

UberCheat was available for 15 months, during which time it verified only 6,000 orders. In this sample, it turned out that as many as 17% were clearly underestimated.
