UBER – revenues of approximately PLN 205 billion – that’s the equivalent of the entire Polish military budget (PLN 200 billion)
Delivery Hero (Glovo) – PLN 63 billion – that’s the equivalent of the annual expenditure on the 800+ program (PLN 62 billion)
Just Eat Takeaway (Pyszne.pl) – PLN 21.9 billion – that’s the annual cost of indexing all pensions and disability benefits (PLN 22 billion)
So when someone tells you that the platform economy is a new and fledgling sector of the economy, the only response you can give is the classic: “You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.”
