One of Germany’s leading television news outlets, Tagesschau, published a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of Fleet Partners operating on behalf of Delivery Platforms in its online edition.
In a comprehensive article, it describes the difficulty of holding Fleet Partners accountable, using the case of Shiwani Sharma, who worked as a Delivery Partner for the Wolt Platform as an example. She obtained access to the app from an agent at a mobile phone store. However, she received no pay for over three months. Sharma sued Wolt in the Berlin Labor Court, demanding unpaid wages. In June of this year, the court dismissed her claims. Sharma was unable to prove she was employed by Wolt. Wolt stated during the trial that Sharma was employed by a Partner called IMOQX GmbH. However, this company cannot be contacted. The address in Luckau, Brandenburg, listed in the commercial register documents, only contains an abandoned building. According to the documents, the managing director of IMOQX is Jarosław T., who, according to the commercial register, also manages two other companies in Germany. These companies, as well as T. himself, are nowhere to be found. His alleged home address is an empty village shop in Brandenburg.
However, the editorial team managed to locate him. His real residence is an allotment garden in Poznań. T. stated that this was the first time he had heard that he managed several companies and was the boss of over a hundred suppliers who worked for Wolt. Jarosław T. was most likely used as a front.
