The Lithuanian Ministry of Social Welfare and Labour is responsible for preparing the regulations implementing the directive. Meetings are being held with social partners on this matter, which will result in the publication of a draft law in the near future. It appears that the Directive will be finally implemented by the end of 2026.
At the same time, the Platforms have launched a public information campaign, claiming that Platform employees themselves do not want the Directive implemented. As a result, the implementation of the Directive into the Lithuanian legal system may not change the situation of those working for the Platforms.
