Spain’s largest trade union, CCOO (Comisiones Obreras), has called for mobilization in response to the collective layoff plan announced by the Glovo platform. The layoffs are expected to affect 187 people employed as delivery workers in Andalusia alone (and a total of approximately 750 people across Spain). CCOO calls the layoffs “unjustified”: Glovo is seeking to further precarize work and wants to replace salaried employees with external outsourcing.

CCOO has announced a picket outside Glovo’s headquarters for tomorrow [April 15, 2026]. A nationwide strike is also planned for April 24-26.
