Last Tuesday [April 7, 2026], the New York City government (USA) launched the first official Delivery Hub (Deliverista Hub), located right next to City Hall in Manhattan.

The old newspaper kiosk has been completely modernized. There, delivery drivers can rest, escape extreme weather, use the restroom, and charge their phones. The hub is also equipped with 40 bicycle battery chargers.

Experts are on-site to assist delivery drivers with issues related to payroll and account holds. Advice is available five days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but the hub itself is open 24/7.

The first announcements about the creation of such a hub were made five years ago. Considering that New York City is 2.5 times larger than Warsaw and that approximately 80,000 Suppliers work there, we believe that one such location is just a drop in the ocean of needs. Even if three are ultimately planned.

We also believe it’s worth noting that this is yet another time when citizens are using their taxes to repair the damage caused by exploitation on platforms.
