The New Indian Express online portal describes the situation of people working as delivery drivers for platforms in India following the global rise in fuel prices. Despite the sharp rise in fuel costs, delivery rates offered by platforms to employees were not increased. Therefore, the increased costs were passed on entirely to the delivery drivers. At the same time, due to higher gas prices, many so-called black kitchens (restaurants without a sign) have closed or reduced their operations, which has resulted in a drop in orders on platforms by approximately 20-30%.
