Today we are talking about the report again, but the data from it is really strong.

The WorkerInfoExchange organization has published a report in which it presents a new approach to the work of Suppliers for Internet Platforms. The authors of the report prove that due to the fact that the algorithms and the data derived from them (about how Suppliers manage their work) are a trade secret, the fact that they contain deliberate errors is hidden, causing the exploitation of Employees. According to the report, Suppliers and therefore their families, were robbed of around 1.9 billion pounds in 2023. And that’s just in Great Britain!

The report shows that around 40% of the time spent at work by Platform employees is wasted on empty commutes or waiting for work. The report emphasizes that such low efficiency of using working time is simply due to poor quality Algorithms. Due to deteriorating employee utilization rates, they are paid for only 4 to 6 hours out of every 10 hours worked (generally speaking). The rest of the time is spent waiting for a job or commuting.

Based on the estimated number of workers and hours they will work in 2023, the Platform’s operational inefficiencies have cost workers an estimated 8,000 years of unpaid time.
