The Getir platform, little known in Poland, issued a statement a week ago [29/04/2024] about closing all its foreign branches. Getir is a Platform founded in Turkey, currently operating in Western Europe, Great Britain and the United States.
According to the statement, the Platform will now withdraw from all these markets. More than six thousand people will lose their jobs.
The history of Getir shows what modern economics is all about: the company was founded in 2015, its shares were worth almost USD 12 billion a moment ago, and just half a year ago it took over the FreshDirect platform, present in the USA, with over two thousand people working there.
According to the documents, in 2023 Getir had an average of over 2 million orders per month and USD 800 million in revenue.
