The Journal online magazine, in its March 6, 2024 issue, reports on the proceedings of the Irish Parliamentary Committee on Business, Trade and Employment. On that day, the Commission heard from Teresa Hannick on working conditions in Internet Platforms.

In addition to the generally known practices of Platforms and the dangers resulting from them, Hannick also raised a rarely mentioned but extremely humiliating aspect of this work: complete or very difficult access to toilets for Platform employees.

“Unfortunately, we still encounter cases where it is not allowed to use restaurant toilets. At the same time, the Platforms do not provide any alternative, which clearly violates workers’ right to dignity,” Hannick said.
