A court in Barcelona, Spain, has begun proceedings against Oscar Pierre, co-founder and CEO of the Glovo platform. This is a criminal case involving offenses against workers’ rights. Pierre faces up to six years in prison for decisions that “diminished and eliminated the rights” of delivery workers by keeping them in a state of “false self-employment.” He made these decisions despite earlier court rulings mandating that delivery workers be hired as full-time employees.
