Yesterday [August 12, 2026], the Just Eat Takeaway.com platform (operating in Poland under the Pyszne.pl brand)
published an announcement that it is discontinuing its delivery services in Bulgaria. All employees working for the platform will resign on September 15th. According to the announcement, this includes 220 office workers and 480 delivery staff.
Takeaway’s operations in Bulgaria began with the local platform BGMenu, which was established over 20 years ago. In 2018, Takeaway.com acquired it, along with the Romanian platform Oliviera, for €10.5 million.
As a reminder, in March of this year, the Just Eat Takeaway.com platform withdrew from Denmark, and previously from Romania and France.
