The Hungarian government has not yet begun work on implementing the Platform Work Directive. No consultations with social partners are underway.

The delays are attributed to the political situation in the country. Work on the Directive was supposed to begin once the new government was established. However, the biggest legal challenge is the Hungarian Supreme Court’s ruling in 2023, which recognized a Platform Worker as self-employed, making any introduction of the presumption of full-time employment difficult.
