Time is running out. The government is running out of time to implement the Platform Work Directive. That’s why we’re running a timer on our website: how much time is left until December 2, 2026?
As a reminder: the implementation of European Union Directive No. 2024/2831 is to be implemented through a special act being developed by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy (MRPiPS). It has announced that the draft will be published after the reform of the National Labor Inspectorate is passed and after the conclusion of discussions within the Social Dialogue Council (RDS).
As of today: the reform awaits the President’s signature, with a deadline of April 2. And the talks within the RDS show no end in sight. The next meeting is on April 8, but when will they conclude? Nobody knows.
But even if the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy proposes legislation implementing the Directive, it still has to go through the entire legislative process (public consultations, the Sejm, the Senate, and the President’s signature).
So, let the countdown begin: WE HAVE 8 MONTHS AND 3 DAYS LEFT
