Getir, a platform operating in Turkey, started promoting itself with a commercial featuring singer Seda Sayan. The problem is that it lists 10-minute delivery as a benefit of the platform. This is despite the Turkish Ministry of Transport explicitly prohibiting the imposition of time pressure on delivery workers. But this isn’t really about compliance with any law. It’s simply about the platforms’ reckless actions: they exert pressure because they want higher profits, even at the cost of delivering workers’ lives.

And the biggest paradox: a week after the commercial premiered in Turkey, another delivery worker died at work.
