Business Insider magazine reported on the “SandBox” training project, implemented by Uber Platform on behalf of Google. At least a dozen people with advanced degrees (e.g., PhDs) were involved in the project. These individuals provided training in AI. It appears that Uber is trying to expand beyond transportation and delivery services. It wants to show investors that it can be a “platform for every job.”

Employees were promised contracts of several months. However, after just one month, they received termination emails – and were thus fired. They were also promised very high bonuses if their weekly hours exceeded 40. However, none of them managed to receive this bonus because the algorithm managing their work intentionally blocked them from completing their tasks.
