Here’s an interesting fact: before the first Uber, almost 10 years earlier, there was already something very, very similar: kozmo.com. What a wonderful story about a beautiful disaster. In 1998, two young investment bankers founded a company (now called a startup) that promised customers in the US to have their groceries delivered within an hour. By bicycle!
And even though investors poured in $250 million, it was over by 2001 – kozmo.com went bust.
