In the conflict between people working as delivery drivers at Pyszne.pl and the management of the Platform, there are also postulates to introduce rational solutions that will simply make people’s work easier.

One of them is the implementation of a simple rule that work should end more or less where it begins. This applies to people who start work in one district of the city and end up somewhere completely different. This means that sometimes the return home can take 15 minutes and sometimes two hours. This does not make people’s lives easier – it is difficult to plan anything at home, to fulfill family and life obligations.

On this matter, yesterday [02.09.2024] the Trade Union operating at Pyszne.pl issued a short statement.

Finishing work

Couriers must know what time they will finish work. Remote couriers should be paid for the time of work consisting in returning to their starting zone – these have been ZZ’s postulates for a long time. Unfortunately, the company does not agree to resolve this matter at the moment. We do not intend to give up, but a solution is needed that will help eliminate the biggest pathologies now. Due to the high probability of ending a shift far from the starting zone, many couriers decide to work shorter hours or not to work at all on a given day by potentially returning to the zone far away – especially in the evening hours, when further trips are more often assigned. We believe that the best solution is the possibility of the dispatcher manually rewriting the last trip during the shift. The distance between the starting point to which the courier is assigned and the address of the end of the last delivery should not exceed 4 km. We would like this solution to be used all year round and to have a nationwide reach. The implementation of such a system will certainly allow for greater predictability of the moment of the end of the shift and will ensure that couriers will not have to return to the zone or hub for a long time after the end of their shift.

We must stop extending work beyond the couriers’ strength! We must stop returning several kilometers after the last order! Write about your situation with ending shifts: zzpyszne(at)konfedracjapracy.org.pl

And our comment is also short:

Pyszne.pl admits that Suppliers work on this Platform for an average of about 60 days. Maybe it is worth thinking about the reasons for such a huge turnover and seeing employees as simply people?
