Today we are opening a new series in which we will present statistical data on people employed on various types of Internet Platforms, including Delivery Platforms. We know that work is underway on the implementation of the Platform Work Directive. So a little knowledge about this may be useful to all of us, and perhaps we will dispel a few stereotypes along the way.
Today: Who are the people working for Platforms?
According to Eurostat data published in 2023:
Platform employees were more often men than women – in the general group aged 15-64, it was 3.2% of all men, 2.8% of all women.
Most often, employees were people under 30 – in the group of 15-29 years, it was 3.6% of all employees.
Interestingly, among people working for Platforms after the age of 30, as many as 17% had higher education.
The study was conducted by Eurostat in 2022, as part of the general EU labour market survey, data comes from 17 countries (including Poland).
