The year ending hasn’t changed much for those working as Platform Suppliers, especially when it comes to employee rights. There was exploitation, there is exploitation. But will it continue?

Theoretically, December 2, 2026, is the deadline for implementing the EU Platform Work Directive. Its implementation into Polish law may significantly improve matters. But perhaps nothing will change.

It’s also possible that it simply won’t be implemented. Neither in 2026 nor in 2027. See the implementation history of other Directives:
Whistleblower Directive – implementation deadline: December 17, 2021. Poland adopted the law only in mid-2024 and it entered into force in September 2024. Consequences: financial penalties (over €7 million). Omnibus Directive – implementation deadline: May 28, 2022. The Polish act did not enter into force until January 1, 2023.
Copyright Directive – implementation deadline: June 7, 2021. The Polish amendment to copyright law was not signed until August 2024.
Work-Life Balance Directive – implementation deadline: August 2, 2022, the regulations entered into force in Poland on April 26, 2023.

So, once again, we reiterate: we have high hopes, but no one knows what the outcome will be, and anyone who is already predicting what it will be like after its implementation is simply speculating.
