As reported by the online magazine Context, there are already at least four platforms in the United States offering nursing services in a model similar to classic Internet platforms such as Uber.

As you can easily guess, platforms such as Clipboard, ShiftKey, CareRev or Papa do not provide services themselves, they only act as an intermediary. Therefore, they offer orders to people who want to provide care or nursing services on conditions almost identical to those offered by delivery platforms or platforms providing passenger transport. Of course, what they have in common is not only the organization of work but also very low wages.

Undoubtedly, this new wave of Uberization of nursing services will deepen the crisis in this sector – nurses are already the group of the lowest earners in the USA. Additionally, the percentage of people working in temporary work conditions is systematically increasing: now it is over 10%, while in 2017 it was only 2%.
