Employees of the Turkish Yemeksepeti Platform have published a report on the safety of people working as suppliers. According to the report, as many as 68 cyclists working for this Platform died in Turkey in 2023. The report detailed the circumstances surrounding each of their colleagues’ fatalities and the protests organized in response to those deaths.
In parallel, the report presents the results of a survey conducted among hundreds of Yemeksepeti employees. When asked what they are according to the main problems they had to face in 2023. As many as 86% believe that the company is misleading with advertisements regarding potential earnings. They also think it is outrageous that they are paid based on distance (between pickup and delivery points) measured as the crow flies, rather than the actual distance traveled.
