Last week, three people working for the Just Eat Platform in France (in Poland known as Pyszne.pl) went on hunger strike in protest against the Platform’s activities.
Striking people are in a very difficult life situation: their legal situation is unregulated. Its regulation depends on the employee’s status. Meanwhile, the Platform decided to dismiss all people employed as suppliers and switch to a model of cooperation only with “subcontractors”.
The strike was supported by trade unions, but unfortunately last Friday the negotiations broke down and the Platform’s management threatened to call the police – which means almost immediate deportation for the striking people.
