On Wednesday [02.07.2025] at 6:00 PM we will meet at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art. We want to present you our new brochure, but also talk about the EU Directive on Platform Work. What will its implementation look like? What are the chances that it will improve our situation?
We are receiving signals from many countries that Delivery Platforms do not spare funds for lobbying. In 2020, in California (USA), in order to retain Employees as subcontractors,
Platforms spent over USD 200 million. In 2025, the DoorDash Platform donated USD 1 million to the Democratic candidate for Mayor of New York – he was against introducing pro-worker legal solutions.
In the UK, the Deliveroo Platform hired former government advisors as consultants.
In Spain, the Glovo and UberEats platforms provided financial support to economic organizations opposed to the introduction of the law on the employment of Delivery Drivers.
We will discuss all these issues tomorrow!
