Working for platforms is exploitative wherever platforms appear. This is not just an issue in our cities. This is exploitation on a global scale.
That is why we are starting a series of presentations of trade unions, associations and groups that have noticed this situation and are fighting all over the world.

Today: France – Collectif des livreurs autonomes de Paris (The Paris Autonomous Deliverers’ Collective or CLAP) is a group of Parisian couriers – who organize together in Paris.

In August 2017, CLAP members carried out a series of strikes against the change in Deliveroo’s pay structure from a guaranteed minimum hourly wage to a system fully based on completed orders. This was exactly the same change that provoked protests by London Deliveroo drivers in late 2016. Since then, CLAP has organized workers on food delivery platforms, bicycles and mopeds, and their largest action – a mass strike on the weekend of the World Cup final – contributed to how they think Deliveroo will close down.
