During the presentation of the Fairwork Polska 2025 Report, Agnieszka Wołoszyn, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor Law at the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, spoke.
Among the many topics she addressed, she discussed the progress of work on implementing the Platform Work Directive. Currently, the Ministry believes that reform of the National Labor Inspectorate (PIP) is necessary first. Only when the full scope of changes to the National Labor Inspectorate (PIP) is known can the Directive be implemented. Furthermore, as we previously knew, the Ministry is waiting for the conclusion of the so-called “social dialogue” in the Social Dialogue Council between Trade Unions and Employers.
We would also like to add that we have heard from other sources that the procedure in the RDS is being deliberately delayed by the Entrepreneurs’ Associations, who may thus sabotage the implementation of the Directive. And let’s remember that Polish governments have a long tradition of delaying the implementation of EU directives, as we wrote about here.
