Yesterday [January 20, 2025] 12 organizations from the European Union and the United Kingdom published a call for Delivery Platforms to respect the people who work for them as Delivery Agents and to improve the transparency and explainability of the algorithms they use.

The organizations believe that Platforms should introduce a public register of the Algorithms used to manage workers. They also call on Platforms to ensure that all decisions made by these Algorithms include an explanation of the key reasons behind the decision and how they can be challenged. They also demand that Platforms allow workers, their representatives and public interest groups access to freely test the performance of these Algorithms.
