The Freedom Trade Union of Rethymno (Greece) reported a serious accident involving a person working as a delivery driver for the Wolt Platform on the island of Zakynthos. The accident occurred last Thursday during heavy rain. A few hours earlier, a storm alert was declared in Greece, and the Security Center sent out a message to avoid travel and stay home. In response to the alert, the Wolt Platform sent out a message about a 50% bonus valid until the end of the day.
And this is precisely why, despite warnings, we continue to work, risking our health and lives. Because we earn so little, that 50% is truly important and worth the risk for some of us.
