Almost two weeks ago, we reported (here) that Delivery Hero was considering the bankruptcy of its subsidiary in Spain, responsible for the operation of the Glovo Platform in that country. This was allegedly a consequence of fines imposed on it for failing to comply with workers’ rights. The amounts ranged from approximately €500 million to over €920 million.
However, moments later, it turned out that the company had paid most of these fines in the meantime. The exact amount remains unknown. The lawsuits are still ongoing, and the final amount is not yet known.
We would also like to remind you that Glovo is also owed fines imposed by the European Union: €329 million for violating competition rules.
