We are returning to the series of presentations of trade unions, associations and groups that are fighting against the exploitation of Platforms in the world. Today, Greece and the events of recent days.
On October 11 [2024], people working as Delivery Workers on the efood.gr Platforms (belonging to Delivery Hero, operating in Poland as Glovo) and Wolt went on strike. A strike was announced in defense of collective agreements, demanding full insurance coverage for employees and granting the same rights to remuneration as in full-time employment, so that they would cover all Delivery Workers.
The strike was supported by many trade unions, including SVEOD (we wrote about it here)
However, this coming weekend [18-19.10.2024] in Athens there will be a series of meetings and discussions devoted to work for Platforms organized by SVEOD. The program also includes a presentation of the publication “Labor Platforms: The Invisible Boss – Capitalist Restructuring – Class Struggles”.
