While the European Union institutions are discussing the details of the directive regulating the work of the Platforms, the first practical effects of cooperation between the Government and the Platforms are already visible in France.
CoopCycle has published an analysis of the proposal prepared by ARPE (Authority for Employment in Online Platforms, Autorité des relations sociales des plateformes d’emploi) regarding the minimum wage in the sector.
According to ARPE, the minimum income in 2022 was EUR 30 in Deliveroo and EUR 24 in Uber.
Therefore, ARPE has proposed EUR 11.75 as the minimum wage valid until 2024! Yes, 11.75 euros, while sanctioning the situation that the waiting time between orders will still not be paid!
According to CoopCycle calculations, currently, in order to receive the minimum wage in France when working for Uber Eats, you need to make 400 deliveries a month.
This is what the alliance of the Government and the Platforms looks like.
