Two days ago [19.08.2025], the Trade Union operating on the Pyszne.pl platform held another round of negotiations to ensure fair wages (we wrote about this matter here). Pyszne.pl, which operates in Poland, is owned by the Just Eat Takeaway corporation, while in Germany it operates under the Lieferando brand. Lieferando announced a complete overhaul of its employment model and the layoff of over 2,000 people working as delivery drivers.

For some time now, it has been rumored that, under enormous competitive pressure, the platform would be changing its employment model. And that’s exactly what’s happening: it’s closing its own logistics branches (e.g., in Potsdam) and outsourcing employment to Partners (i.e., switching to the model known from companies like Wolt or Glovo).

The Lieferando Workers’ Union (LWC) is protesting against the layoffs and drawing attention to the scandalous conditions in which Suppliers work through Partners: without contracts and without social security. Added to this are practices reminiscent of mafia movies: wages are paid only in cash, at meetings in parks or gas stations. And, of course, there are various additional fees for Partners, such as a start-up fee.
