Four people working for Foodora, the second largest food delivery platform in Austria, were dismissed shortly after a protest demanding higher wages.
Last week in Innsbruck, suppliers organized a picket with the slogan: “In the cold, in the rain, in the heat… For pennies.” They demanded a wage increase of at least 8.7%. Foodora, owned by the German multinational company Delivery Hero, invited employees for free pizza just before the protest, but some of them ignored the invitation. Three days later they received a letter terminating their cooperation
According to Foodora employees, only those who joined the protest and did not come for free pizza were fired.
