Last Thursday [February 12, 2026], the Greek eFood Workers’ Union (Σωματείο Εργαζομένων στην Efood) organized a strike in four cities: Athens, Thessaloniki, Volo, and Kalamata. In Athens, in addition to the strike, Delivery Workers organized a carpool from the city center to the eFood Platform headquarters.
The main demands: first, the introduction of a collective bargaining agreement with salary increases for all positions on the Platform. Second, the guarantee of a minimum hourly wage for Delivery Workers, along with employee insurance. The union also demands the introduction of the principle that cooperation under an employment contract should be an independent decision of Delivery Workers, available to everyone. The union believes that recruitment of new employees should always take place directly on the platform – it is necessary to eliminate all intermediaries who simply rob employees of their earnings.
Importantly, these demands were not limited to suppliers. The union also raised the issue on behalf of people working in other positions at eFood: call center and warehouse workers.
Remember, eFood is owned by Delivery Hero, which operates as Glovo in Poland.
