Last Wednesday [14.05.2025], the Uber platform presented a “completely new service”. In several cities in the US, it will launch passenger transport using small buses that run on fixed routes and always stop at the same, pre-determined locations. Passengers will be able to get on and off at the stops. The transport will be “shared” – i.e. completely random people can be transported together in the vehicle, no one will have the entire vehicle exclusively.
Uber also announces the introduction of various payment methods for such a service: e.g. a monthly subscription or prepayment for 5 or 10 rides.
Damn, this system reminds us of something, sounds somehow familiar…
