Over a month ago [07.09.2024], the English Guardian published an article about how the Deliveroo Platform cleverly bypasses the settlement concluded with the GMB trade union. This union is known for winning several court cases brought, among others, against the Uber Platform (in connection with underpaying employees).

In the settlement concluded between Deliveroo and GMB, the Platform committed to comply with the law on the minimum wage. The Guardian described the mechanism for bypassing this obligation: simply, neither the waiting time between orders nor the time of travel to collect the order is included in the working time. Only the time when the Delivery Person transports the order is counted as worked.
