CoopCycle is a federation of cooperatives dealing with logistics in cities. These cooperatives provide all types of delivery services: orders from restaurants and shops, deliver parcels within the so-called “first and last mile” for large courier corporations.
They all use the application created by CoopCycle, which allows these cooperatives to function. Thanks to it, restaurants and shops can offer their products and services, and courier cooperatives can coordinate deliveries and settle accounts with people working for them as Suppliers and with sellers.
In other words: it is a cooperative, grassroots response to the dominance of corporate Delivery Platforms. It has been operating since 2017. The scale is impressive: they carry out almost 500 thousand deliveries per year, in 53 cities in 10 countries around the world.
CoopCycle wants to strengthen its position, build stronger foundations. The procedure for changing the legal form and increasing the basic capital of the cooperative has been initiated.
As Zentrale, we cooperate with CoopCycle and have used the application. Therefore, we encourage you to support the Federation’s activities. We are convinced that courier cooperatives are the best answer to the exploitation of Delivery Platforms.
