An open conflict has been raging at Pyszne.pl for over a month (see here). The main axis of the dispute between the Trade Union and the Platform is the new payroll system. According to a survey conducted by the Union, over 80% of Suppliers consider this system unfavorable. Several meetings have already been held, and negotiations are ongoing. The tense situation is also a result of other unfavorable changes the Platform has been implementing for months: including the elimination of hubs and the elimination of company-issued bicycles.
Late on Wednesday [03/09/2025], the Union published a statement on its Telegram channel, which we publish in full below.
It’s been several days since the company, despite the Trade Union’s negative opinion, introduced a kilometer-based payroll system for its own equipment. Based on the information we’re receiving, we can already conclude that abandoning the previous, flat-rate method of calculating the allowance is, on the one hand, less financially advantageous, which is particularly felt by couriers using vehicles. Furthermore, the system requires additional bureaucracy for couriers in the form of having to document and report cancellations and incorrectly calculated distances. For this very reason, as a trade union, we advocated for maintaining the flat-rate system for payment for own equipment, which was much simpler and transparent for both the company and the couriers. We thank you for all the comments you send via email. They are very valuable because without the information the company has, it is difficult to clearly determine how the changes will affect payments and working conditions. One of the issues we raised was the issue of returning to the zones and the repeated information about coordinators’ “requests” to return from remote locations. We consider these types of communications, even if expressed politely, to be official orders, which is one of the distinguishing features of employment contracts from civil law contracts. We also disagreed with calculating only a portion of the distance a courier covers while completing a task, as this would be simply unfair. We continue to believe that the best solution for both the company and the couriers would be to return to the previous system. If this isn’t possible, the company should increase the premium rates for individual vehicles to prevent couriers from losing money. This should also account for inflation, which affects fuel prices, parts, service, and various fees that couriers incur during their shifts.
