Don’t you understand the context? We’ll explain. Sometimes a person working as a Delivery Person for Platforms has to collect payment in cash from the recipient. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen. Then, depending on the Platform, there are different scenarios. Either the money stays with the Delivery Person and is simply deducted from their paycheck, or they have to deposit it to the Platform using a special ATM card. To prevent the temptation to “disappear” with large amounts of cash, some Platforms introduce a limit on how much cash a customer can have. For example, at Glovo, it’s 450 PLN.

But at Glovo, there was a system failure, and no one could deposit cash, so Delivery Persons exceeded their cash limits, so the Algorithm simply suspended their accounts, leaving them unemployed. And without work, there’s no income, but rent has to be paid, right? Now do you understand what we mean with this algorithm?
