At the end of February [24/02/2025], US Attorney General Letitia James announced that the DoorDash Delivery Platform had reached a settlement and agreed to pay nearly $17 million to people who worked as Delivery Drivers between 2017 and 2019. In doing so, the Platform admitted that it had been dishonestly taking customer tips, which they added to the order and delivery fee. The prosecutor also appointed a special administrator to oversee the refunds.
In our opinion, it is worth noting two things here: that all this happened about 7 years ago. There is certainly no contact with many of the employees anymore. And despite the Platform admitting guilt, it will still make financial profits from this procedure.
The second thing: the DoorDash Platform operates in Poland as Wolt.
