As we have already informed, yesterday [July 9, 2024] the first meeting of representatives of the Ministry with representatives of trade unions representing people working as suppliers for Internet Platforms took place at the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy.
Here is their message after the meeting:

Today, representatives of the Employee Initiative of Couriers and the Confederation of Labor in Pyszne .pl met with representatives of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy.

We talked about the working conditions of couriers, including work for the so-called fleet partners, risks and irregularities related to working under vehicle or equipment rental contracts, low wages paid by platforms and intermediaries, and various commissions collected from couriers. We drew attention to complex problems regarding social security, taxation and, in the case of migrants, legalization of stay and work, which various institutions should take into account when implementing the so-called Platform Directive.

We demand, among other things: residence and fiscal amnesty for people who are currently forced to work for platforms without employment contracts (e.g. based on bicycle or scooter rental contracts).

The Ministry has undertaken to control the intermediation system (the so-called partner system) in platform work and further consultations with us during work on the implementation of the directive. We keep our word.

Meanwhile, we continue our work to improve the working conditions of couriers and couriers and we encourage you to join our union!
