Well, the last two weeks were a hot time, a lot was happening for people working for the Glovo Platform.
First, on March 9, a group in Grudziądz went on strike. The platform was virtually blocked for the entire day. And it already seemed that this event would go unnoticed when, a week later, a group working in Poznań announced a two-day strike. Almost 40 people logged out of the Platform on March 21 and 22. A rally was organized and demands were read. This time, thanks to the support of the Inicjatywa Pracownicza trade union, the meeting received considerable coverage in the media. The strike was covered by 13 different media! And information about it even appeared in an official government document!
And as soon as the strike in Poznań ended, it broke out again in Grudziądz the next day. And again the Glovo Platform was blocked there for the whole day.
And what does Glovo have to say about all this? He brazenly pretends that nothing is happening and only quietly lowers his employees’ grades – which is the first step to the so-called blocking (in normal work called simply being fired). At the same time, quite by accident, Platfroma’s Fleet Partners opened recruitment in these cities.
A very important event also went completely unnoticed: in the “Poznań” demands, couriers revealed and directly described the completely illegal practice of employing people on the basis of… a bicycle rental contract!
What’s next? We’ll see – although we have the impression that this is only the beginning of something much, much bigger!
