In a series of presentations by trade unions, associations and groups that fight against Platform exploitation around the world, today we return to Great Britain.
We recently reported on the great success of the Valentine’s Day strike on Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats platforms during the Valentine’s Day order peak.
However, since the management boards of these Platforms have not changed anything in their attitude towards workers, they plan to continue the strike “every Friday and every holiday.”
Of course, the main demand remains unchanged: an immediate increase in base salaries. According to the strike participants, Uber currently pays a minimum of £2.80 and Deliveroo £3.15 – they are demanding an increase to a minimum of £5.
About 5,000 people from London, Brighton, Oxford, Liverpool and Newcastle working for Deliveroo, Just Eat, Uber Eats and Stuart have already announced their participation in the strike.
