Yesterday [01.04.2025] the Trade Union operating at Pyszne.pl published a comprehensive statement about the current situation at this Platform.
We publish it in full below, and remind you that a lot happened there last year (see here)
On 26.03.2025, talks were held between ZZ and Pyszne. They were attended by representatives of Takeaway, Trenkwalder and the management board of ZZ Pyszne (in its entirety).
We talked about the situation of two couriers whose contracts were not extended because they did not report 40 hours per month (one of them is the current chairman of the Trade Union). The company did not take into account the fact that the couriers had sick leave. As a union, we expressed our concern about Pyszne’s conduct, because in the event of a prolonged illness, some people will not be able to comply with the obligation to provide the appropriate availability. The company’s representatives undertook to review the procedures related to reporting absences, in particular those related to being on sick leave.
We were also concerned by the fact that Pyszne representatives, in talks with the ZZ management, spoke about the requirement to work 40 hours and not only to report availability. We drew attention to this issue during the meeting, but we will still clarify it. We intend to apply for templates of contracts concluded with couriers to check whether such provisions actually appear in some documents (e.g. those newly concluded), or whether this is just an over-interpretation by Pyszne representatives.
The second topic of talks was the liquidation of hubs. We were informed that the situation concerns 20% of Pyszne couriers. We have drawn attention to the company fulfilling its obligation to inform hub couriers at least 2 months in advance and to consider introducing facilities that may facilitate the transition to their own equipment. On this occasion, we once again raised the issue of increasing the allowance for their own equipment, which has not been indexed for a long time with rising costs due to inflation.
During the meeting, we also raised the issue of inserting unpaid half-hour breaks in the schedules (which, according to agreements from a few months ago, the company was to stop doing) and the reminders that couriers have been receiving from dispatchers since March regarding, among other things, driving too slowly. According to ZZ, such messages may be perceived by couriers as pressure to drive faster, which may be associated with breaking traffic regulations and reducing safety. The company declared that it would look into both of these matters. At the same time, Pyszne representatives pointed out that the company did not declare that it would not add 30-minute breaks, but that it would allow couriers to correct the schedule after it was published by removing an unpaid break at the courier’s request.
