IAATW is a global trade union bringing together people working for Internet Platforms.\r\n\r\nIAATW was founded in January 2020 at an international conference of app-based transport trade unions organized by United Private Hire Drivers (from the UK, now known as the App Drivers &amp; Couriers Union).\r\n\r\nOne of the first actions was a campaign launched in July 2020 (together with the App Drivers and Couriers Association and the non-governmental organization Worker Info Exchange) to support Uber drivers in filing legal complaints against the company for lack of access to their personal data.\r\n\r\nIn February 2021, British judges ruled in favor of the IAATW's App Drivers &amp; Couriers Union that Uber drivers should be considered employees.
