It is estimated that about 60 thousand Delivery Workers work for Platforms in this city. Currently, climate change has rapidly increased the number of days with very high temperatures, which in the city pose an additional threat: concrete and asphalt accumulate heat. Hot days expose Delivery Workers to strokes, sunburn, fatigue, dizziness and fainting. All this increases the risk of accidents.<\/p>\n
Paradoxically, the matter is complicated by the fact that delivery orders increase rapidly during extreme weather conditions, such as heat waves and storms. When city authorities advise people to stay at home, this is when the demand for Delivery Workers is highest.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, Platforms do not provide their employees with access to air-conditioned places. And to rest for a while, they have to buy themselves a sandwich or coffee to justify their stay in air-conditioned restaurants.<\/p>\n
