A \u200b\u200bnew legal solution regarding the operation of platforms has just come into effect in Indonesia. The new law lowers the maximum commission that platforms can charge from individuals working as suppliers from 20% to 8%. This means that on paper, suppliers retain a whopping 92% of the order amount. While this change seems impressive, reality shows that after deducting costs (fuel and equipment depreciation), the actual net profit for suppliers will increase to only 390 PLN per month. Even considering local realities, this is dramatically low. This amount is only about 60% of the minimum wage in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Reality forces suppliers to accept this situation. Before the regulations were introduced, platforms forced subscription programs (e.g., fees for packages of orders). Suppliers who opted out were punished by the algorithm by being invisibly cut off from orders. After the regulation came into effect, platforms declared they would abolish these subscriptions, but the rating and ranking systems still put enormous pressure on providers \u2013 no one knows how they are being rated or what they are being rated for.<\/p>\n
